SUPPLY CHAIN
We moved the majority of our production back to Melbourne, Australia in 2024. When producing our pieces overseas we lacked oversight and ownership and felt like a very small sardine in a huge body of water. We worked with third parties who provided us certifications but without having the means for physical oversight and engagement we were always at arms length. This never sat well with us and so we made the decision to bring production back to Melbourne.
We did this because we wanted more oversight and control of where our clothes were being made, what they were being made of out and who made them without having to rely on third parties.
Fashion supply chains can be incredibly complex from raw materials to the garment arriving on your door step. We are committed to sharing our entire production process from material selection or the farming of raw materials, to our amazing manufacturers.
Made in Melbourne
All our garments from Drop 3* onwards are manufactured by our incredible production team at Creation Collective in Collingwood, Victoria (Australia) with all our makers being paid above award wages.
*our silk products are produced in Hangzhou City, China and are all OEKO-TEX certified which means they are free from harmful substances and chemicals, ensuring it is safe for human health and the environment.
Material
Cotton
Our T-Shirts (Drop 3 onwards) are made using Good Earth Cotton grown in New South Wales (Australia). Good Earth Cotton is grown using regenerative practices.
Surplus Fabric
We work with the amazing, innovative team at Circular Sourcing and Wall Fabrics to source our surplus materials (aka deadstock). Our goal is to continue to limit our production of new materials by repurposing beautiful fabrics that already exist. Where we produce new fabrics, we will only utilise natural fibres.
For more information on each piece, check out our product page.
Dye
Our T-shirts are garment washed and dyed at Richmond Industrial Laundry.
Our silk products are dyed using OEKO-TEX dyes.
Our tea towels use water-based inks from The Linen Press.
Fixtures
All our buttons from Drop 3 onwards are either coconut or shell buttons, reducing our reliance on plastic or recycled plastic options.
Currently, we still use a cotton/polyester blend for our threads.
Packaging
We limit our use of packaging and take a no frills approach by skipping the thank you cards and tissue paper which you'll just throw away. The best thing in your package is your beautiful garment.
We protect your garment by using compostable garment bags and ship it to you in our recyclable mailers made from FSC certified materials.
